Doors Open Richmond

On May 2nd and 3rd, 2009, London Heritage Farm joined the Doors Open Richmond – a 2 days citywide celebration that offered free access to 40 venues in the City of Richmond allowing visitors to explore Richmond’s arts, heritage and cultural diversity.

During Doors Open, tours from costumed guides are offered. Visitors browsed through the exhibits in the farm house and visited the heritage gardens, hand tool museum and large farm machinery displays. Live demonstrations by the Richmond Carvers Society were main art attractions of the event. Children were happy to participate in the scavenger hunt with each child receiving a small prize.

Many also enjoyed tea in the Tea Room and shopped for the London Lady Tea, London Farm Jam and Jelly in the Gift Shop.

Spring Clean-up Work Party

Volunteers, members and members of the City of Richmond all came out and helped with London Heritage Farm’s Spring Clean-up Day. Artifacts in the farmhouse were cleaned up and rearranged for exhibit. Old farming equipments were fixed and restored for display. It was a day of hard work and fun for all who were there to prepare for the reopening of the London Heritage Farm in the spring season.
