Doors Open Richmond – Tours @ London Heritage Farm

Doors Open Richmond 2015 is Richmond’s 8th annual celebration of arts, culture and heritage. Coordinated by the Richmond Museum Society in partnership with the City of Richmond, this free event allows visitors of all ages to explore Richmond’s heritage and arts at 44 partner sites across the city.

As one of the Doors Open Richmond’s participating sites, London Heritage Farm is a picturesque heritage site on 4 acres along the south arm of the Fraser River. The 1890’s farmhouse was built by the London family and has period themed rooms depicting pioneer life in Richmond.

Activities:

  • Tour the furnished rooms in the old farmhouse.
  • Stroll through the park and visit the heritage, herb and perennial gardens.
  • See chickens in their coop.
  • Visit the small Hand Tool Museum and view old farm equipment.
  • Drop in for tea in the Tea Room.

Or consider visiting London Heritage Farm on one of the Doors Open Richmond 2015 Bus Tours

  • Saturday 1 p.m.–4 p.m.

Richmond’s farming past and present come together on this tour as visitors will experience one of Richmond’s original farms still in use, an 1890’s heritage farm and a modern berry winery.  Limited seating.

  • London Heritage Farm (Site 28)
  • Canada Berries Winery (Site 39)

Participation and Registration:

  • Buses start and stop at: Minoru Book Drop, east entrance Richmond Cultural Centre (City Hall side), 7700 Minoru Gate
  • To register: Phone the City of Richmond Call Centre at 604-276-4300 and quote the registration number indicated.
  • Cost: $5.00 per seat.
  • Please note that for safety reasons, buses can’t accommodate children under 40 pounds.
  • Please check each tour for wheelchair accessibility.

Hours of Operation

The Grounds are open to public for free entrance every day from dawn to dusk.

Entrance to the Farmhouse is by donation. The Museum, Tea Room and Gift Shop in the Farmhouse are open to public during the following hours:

January 31 to July 3, 2015
Every Saturday and Sunday

July 4 to August 30, 2015
Every Wednesday through Sunday
