Greeted by Doors Open Richmond Ambassadors in orange T-shirts and music by the piper, hundreds of guests and visitors joined the Opening Celebration of Doors Open Richmond in the beautiful evening of Friday, June 6, 2014 at London Heritage Farm. Around 7:15 pm, Mayor Brodie declared the official opening of the 2-days city-wide celebration of Doors Open Richmond. After a short welcome message by Bruce Livingston, President of London Heritage Farm Society, guests and visitors started to enjoy the live show of the Morris Dancers and Jazz Quartet in the South Lawn and Gazebo and strolled around the beautiful Heritage Garden. Apart from crafting and seed planting, kids had a chance to experience the life of Richmond’s pioneers by trying out to use some of the old household and kitchen tools dating back to the 1890’s. Many families also enjoyed a picnic on the lawn with free BBQ’s and drinks generously provided by the sponsors of this event.
Joining over 40 sites in Richmond, London Heritage Farm will be open on the weekend of June 7 and 8, from 10 am to 5 pm, to participate in the FREE Doors Open for tours.
