London Heritage Farm is hosting the Doors Open Richmond 2014 Kick Off Celebration the evening of Friday, June 6, 7:00-9:00 pm with an old fashioned theme. Mayor Brodie will be present to officially open the event. Music, dancers, food, crafts, tours of the Farmhouse, and all sorts of fun things will be going on. It is a free event open to the public.
For the evening, parking is available at the former Steveston High School site (10440 No.2 Road) and there will be free shuttle buses to London Heritage Farm from 6:30 pm every 15 minutes. Due to safety reasons, children under 40 pounds are unable to ride on the buses.
We will be open the rest of the weekend, June 7 and 8, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm, to participate in the FREE Doors Open for tours with costumed guides. Visitors can browse through the exhibits in the Farmhouse, visit the Heritage Gardens, Small Hand Tools Museum and Large Farming Machinery Displays. Children can participate in the Family Scavenger Hunt with each child receiving a small prize.
Doors Open Richmond is a 2 days city-wide celebration that offers a free opportunity to explore over 40 of Richmond’s unique culture and heritage sites including museums, national historic sites, heritage buildings, art galleries, studios and places of worship.
